Summary Box: Toll Brothers' 4Q profit falls (AP)
THE PERFORMANCE: Luxury homebuilder Toll Brothers Inc. reported fiscal fourth-quarter net income of 9 cents a share on revenue of $427.8 million. Analysts surveyed by FactSet predicted earnings of 5 cents a share on revenue of $424.3 million.
THE DETAILS: Home deliveries rose 8 percent in the quarter, while net signed contracts climbed 15 percent. Backlog units increased 12 percent.
OUTLOOK: Management expects to deliver between 2,400 and 3,200 homes in fiscal 2012. That works out to an 8 percent drop on the low end of the range and an increase of 23 percent on the high end.

First significant snow of winter to hit central U.S. (Reuters)
AUSTIN, Tex (Reuters) ? Up to 12 inches of snow could fall in parts of Colorado and New Mexico on Saturday as a storm system moves through the central U.S., bringing what forecasters said would be the first significant snow of the season to the region.
From New Mexico to the Great Lakes, the storm that brought damaging winds to Western states and several inches of snow to the Rockies on Friday is set to drop four to seven inches of snow in other states in the region, including Nebraska and Kansas, according to forecasters.
Parts of Nebraska were already blanketed with snow on Saturday morning. And residents of the high country in Arizona were on the lookout for snow later Saturday as well, with forecasters predicting up to eight inches in Flagstaff by Saturday night.
The same system was bringing rain to parts of north Texas, as well as parts of Michigan and Iowa.
Temperatures below freezing was causing dangerous driving conditions in Michigan, where rain was freezing on roads, according to Accuweather.com.
The northern Great Lakes can expect snow accumulation on Saturday night, forecasters said.
Travel on several interstate highways is expected to be affected by the wintry mix of snow, sleet and rain, according to Accuweather.com forecasters, including I-25, I-29, I-35, I-39, I-40, I-70, I-80, I-90 and I-94.
The National Weather Service issued an advisory on Saturday warning of potential heavy rain in parts of Oklahoma and Arkansas on Saturday night in advance of a cold front expected to hit the area late Saturday or early Sunday.
A second winter storm is expected to develop on Sunday evening in New Mexico, across Texas and into Oklahoma, bringing temperatures down to the 20s for some areas and sparking the potential for snow, sleet or ice.
Also starting Sunday, forecasters will be watching for heavy rains to drench an already saturated area from Arkansas to the Ohio Valley, raising the potential for floods in that area next week, according to Accuweather.com.

Trump to moderate Republican presidential debate
NEW YORK (AP) ? Real estate mogul Donald Trump will moderate a Republican presidential debate in Iowa a week before the state holds the first in the nation caucuses.
The conservative website Newsmax will host the debate, scheduled for Dec. 27 in Des Moines. All the Republican contenders have been invited to participate.
Trump announced he would not seek the Republican nomination himself after toying with a bid last spring. The host of "Celebrity Apprentice" has remained visible in the campaign, hosting many of the candidates for meetings at Trump Tower in New York City. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is set to visit Trump on Monday.
Trump has also been a strong critic of President Barack Obama and drew considerable publicity when he questioned the validity of Obama's birth certificate.

Accident On Foggy Central Texas Road Leaves One Dead
BELL COUNTY (December 2, 2011)?An accident involving a car and a 18-wheeler late Friday afternoon on FM 439 East in Bell County left one person dead.
FM 439 was closed in the area of the accident and authorities didn't expect to reopen it to traffic until around 7:30 p.m. Friday.
A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper confirmed that the driver of the car died in the crash, which was reported at around 4:30 p.m. Friday near the intersection of FM 439 and FM 93 west of Belton.
Two people who were riding in the 18-wheeler were taken to a local hospital, the trooper said.
Conditions were foggy at the time of the accident.
There were unconfirmed reports of an explosion and a fire.
The National Weather Service issued a dense fog advisory for Bell County about 25 minutes after the accident was reported.

Metals end week higher on hopes of growth (AP)
Metals prices ended the week sharply higher Friday on confidence that the U.S. economy will continue growing.
Metals prices started climbing Monday after early reports showed that retail sales were higher than many traders expected during Thanksgiving weekend. Prices continued to rise through the week as reports indicated the U.S. economy might grow more quickly than many investors thought.
On Friday, the government said the unemployment rate fell to 8.6 percent, the lowest level since March 2009. The country added 120,000 jobs in November, according to the Labor Department. The economy has generated 100,000 or more jobs five months in a row ? the first time that has happened since April 2006, well before the deep recession.
If U.S. economic growth continues through 2012, it could increase demand for materials like palladium and copper. The metals are used as raw materials to make cars, electronics devices and construction materials.
Palladium for March delivery gained $15.65 Friday, or nearly 2.5 percent, to close at $645.85 an ounce. Palladium is up nearly 13 percent for the week. Copper for March delivery rose 5.05 cents to close at $3.5845 per pound. Copper ended the week 10 percent higher.
Platinum for January delivery lost $8.70 to settle at $1,548.50 an ounce. Platinum is up 1 percent for the week.
Precious metals also ended the week higher.
Gold for February delivery rose $11.50 to settle at $1,751.30 per ounce. Gold is up nearly 4 percent for the week. March silver fell 7.3 cents to close at $32.686 an ounce, putting silver nearly 6 percent higher since Monday.
In other trading, crop prices were mixed. Corn for March delivery fell 6.25 cents to settle at $5.9525 per bushel. January soybeans gained 7.75 cents to close at $11.3575 a bushel. March wheat rose 11.25 cents to finish at $6.255 per bushel.
In energy trading, benchmark crude oil gained 76 cents to end at $100.96 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Heating oil rose 2.05 cents to finish at $2.99 per gallon. Gasoline futures gained 5.83 cents to close at $2.6162 per gallon and natural gas lost 6.4 cents to close at $3.584 per 1,000 cubic feet.
